The clock known as "Big Ben" issued its last bells on the noon of this Monday, after 157 years in which it was not kept silent.
The reason is because the emblematic clock will be restored and the process will take at least 4 years, a situation that has generated conflicting opinions.
The House of Commons said Monday was the day chosen by the authorities to take the city off the clock after more than a century and a half of uninterrupted operation.
