Conservative Porn? Ted Cruz's campaign ad features adult movie star

Ted Cruz's presidential campaign ad promoting "conservative values" has accidentally starred a former porn actress, who said appearing in the spot was "cool."

Republican Texas senator, features actress Amy Lindsay in his  30-second spot mocking Marco Rubio in his run for the White House.

Earlier on Friday, Cruz spoke about faith and liberty at the Carolina Values Summit, the biggest gathering of social conservatives in the state.

The ad featured a group of people attending a A-A-style therapy session, because they were dissapointed with Senator Marco Rubio's stances on political issues.

One man in the spot says

Well, I voted for a guy who was a Tea Party hero on the campaign trail and then he went to DC and played patty-cake with Chuck Schumer and cut a deal on amnesty.

Lindsay then tells the man

Maybe you should vote for more than just a pretty face next time.

Cruz reported it to be unknown, but in the  the 1990s Lindsay had appeared in a few different exotic adult films.

Cruz's staff insist that they were unaware and would never knowingly hire a porn actress.

His press secretary Catherine Frazier said :

The actress responded to an open casting call. She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad.

Cruz and his campaign are taking the ad down and will replace it with a different one, but unfortunate for Cruz the video didn't take long to be shared on YouTube and social media.
