Dallas Artist Calls for Unity in an Empowering Message to the President and the American People at JFK Memorial at Dealey Plaza
DALLAS – January 21 – Artist and SMU student JP Labastida sends unifying message to the American people; a day after Donald Trump’s inauguration sparked protests across the globe, through his new music video Mr. President shot at Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
The Mexican-American artist from Dallas expresses that change will not come from a president in power, insisting change will come when the American people come together collectively as a whole.
Now over 24 hours of the official inauguration of President Donald Trump, citizens across the nation have taken the streets in discontent. Despite the majority of demonstrations across the nation being passive some did get out of control and became violent and destructive. The goal of this video is to show that demonstration can and must remain creative and passive if we intend to come together and heal.
“Regardless of where we stand today, the direction in which our county follows is completely up to us. We as a collective whole have the power to bring the changes that are needed to help make this a better place,” as stated by Labastida on his Facebook fan page.
