AN OPEN LETTER FOR A BAD DAY | Shared Stories

Let me tell you a secret: you’re no special case on earth, everyone has challenges to face. Some just have a different way of getting through them.

Now, let me give you a reminder: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9.

Let me tell you another secret: being optimistic is for the strong minded. Being optimistic is your key to being happy. Being optimistic is you being your own perfect best friend. BEING OPTIMISTIC is how you make it over every hurdle you are blessed with. Remind yourself that life is always changing. With every coming second you will always be further away from something and closer to another.

There is beauty in not knowing what’s coming next. It could be the worst thing ever, or it could be the best. The game consists of you finding out. Have you noticed that after every despondency there is ALWAYS a relief? Everyone has the right to feel anything and everything; we are colorful beings. But if you drown in your sorrows, you’re the only one not allowing yourself to grow, to take a breath.

I assure you, something beautiful will come of your troubles. Just as it always has. Don’t dismiss everything you’ve overcome to this date. Be patient, accept the route you’ve been handed and be gosh darn grateful for every single experience you’ve had the opportunity to have with whomever you had it with.

You’re going to run into a lot of different people and situations, and they weren’t put there by accident.

“I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Philippians 4:12-13
