President Obama delivers commencement address to 2016 graduates

"The world is more interconnected than ever before, and it’s becoming more connected every day. Building walls won’t change that."

President Barack Obama called out Donald Trump's proposal for a wall on the border on Sunday during his commencement speech to the Class of 2016 graduates at the Rutgers University. With over 40,000 people listening, he said that building a border wall contradicts the spirit of America and that isolating Muslims is a betrayal of U.S. values.

"Your generation has everything it takes to lead this country toward a brighter future," said President Obama.

"In politics and in life, ignorance is not a virtue," said Obama. "It's not cool to not know what you're talking about. That's not keeping it real, or telling it like it is. That's not challenging political correctness. That's just not knowing what you're talking about. And yet, we've become confused about this."
