The power of LOVE

Everyday throughout my Facebook news-feed, which is where I see we get the majority of reliable news nowadays; I see so many negative posts, videos, and articles. Whether is another video of a politicians lying or preaching hatred, a video of lives being affected by war, children in other parts of the world dying of poverty, corruption in our government, etc. All that these news does to be is bring sadness and sometimes anger because it makes me want to do something!

So yes, I ask myself daily, what really can I do? How can I change the world? I want to share my ultimate favorite bible verse that brings me so much joy each time I read it aside from whatever your personal believes may be, It is basically the definition of LOVE:

Love is patient, Love is kind. Love does not envy, Love does not boast, Love is not proud. Love does not dishonor others, Love is not self-seeking, Love is not easily angered, Love keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Cor 13:4-8

I came to the conclusion that the best and most important thing I can do, is use the resources that I have to make a change, which is myself. We as people probably come across multitudes of other people in a day, what wonderful things I can do and  change by being  able to spread the powerful weapon of love to others. I can maybe brighten someone’s day and the love can begin to spread like my news-feed does. By being able to help and change others, they then can do the same to others! The verse above explains how we can love. Maybe giving people a smile when our eyes meet, help someone load their groceries to their car, pay for a person’s meal, hug family members like there is no tomorrow, etc. Love by being love in everything you say and do. Love by being patient when you drive, love by not being jealous of anyone but by being kind, love by enduring your hardships with hope for a better tomorrow.

I did this experiment where I replaced my name with the verse on love and that is my goal each and every day. Try it!

"____ is patient, ____ is kind. ____does not envy, ____does not boast, ____is not proud. ____does not dishonor others, ____is not self-seeking, ____ is not easily angered, ____keeps no record of wrongs. ____does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ____always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ____never fails."

Be love to others and by that small part you do in the world, you are changing the world.
